You might originally have known me/read my work as Lou Lomas...
Here's why that's changed
When I wrote my first book in 2018, I hid.
Not dramatically. Not consciously, even. I just decided - almost without noticing I’d decided - that I’d publish under my middle names. Lou(ise) Lomas.
It sounded like a writer. It felt safe.
If the book flopped, if people hated it, if I’d got it all wrong… well, that would be Lou’s problem, not mine.
The book was The Bad Habit Kicker. A system I genuinely believed in (and still do!), built from real experience, firmly grounded in neuroscience, designed to help people quietly break the habits that were making their lives smaller.
I was proud of it (still am!). And I published it at arm’s length, under a name that wasn’t quite mine, and then waited for the world to notice.
It didn’t, particularly. And I know why.
You can’t market something you’re half-hiding from, which doesn’t feel authentically YOU.
That’s the honest truth I’ve had to sit with. The book is good. The system works. But I put it out into the world wearing a mask, and then wondered why nobody felt like they knew me well enough to trust me. 🤦🏻
Since then, I’ve written and published a second book - Get It Done Anyway (GIDA) - about the very specific paralysis that comes from resistance, fear, and the gap between knowing what you should do and actually doing it.
I published it as Pea Williams. My ‘real’ name. Well, under the nickname I’ve gone by (almost) my whole life.
It felt completely different. Terrifying in a much more positive way.
So here’s where we are.
I’m Pea Williams. I’m also Lou Lomas - those are genuinely my middle names, so I haven’t been lying to anyone, I’ve just been... cropping parts of myself out of the picture.
The Bad Habit Kicker still exists on Amazon under the Lou Lomas name, and I’m keeping it there rather than pretending it didn’t happen. It’s part of the story. But going forward, everything comes from Pea. This Substack, the podcast, my social media, all of it.
I’m showing up properly this time.
If you’ve been here since the Lou Lomas days - thank you. Genuinely. You followed something I was still too scared to fully claim, and that means a lot.
If you’re new here - hello. I’m Pea. 👋
I write about breaking bad habits, getting unstuck, and building systems that work for real human brains rather than idealised ones.
I have two books that can help with both of those things, and I’m done being shy about them.
More soon.
